The Cookie Plug Heads to San Marcos
The Cookie Plug, a fast-growing SoCal favorite with locations all over the L.A. area, will open its second San Diego county location later this summer. Owner Eric Martinez told What Now San Diego the new location will be great for its close proximity to CSU San Marcos and will be open late just like the bakery’s 17 other locations.
The San Marcos spot will give The Cookie Plug 1,100 square feet of space to work with, and the bakery is slated to take over the retail space in the San Marcos Submarket next month. Martinez told What Now San Diego they hope to be open by July or August.
As the bakery is pretty new to the San Diego area, please allow me to introduce you…
The Cookie Plug, a wholesale bakery that offers free shipping nationwide, doesn’t bake up just any cookie. They’re known for their signature “phatties,” or extra-thick, soft and chewy cookies that come in 12 daily flavors as well as one monthly, rotating flavor.
Current varieties include ‘Tart AF’ a lemon cheesecake cookie; ‘Pixie Junkie,’ a funfetti-style cookie, and the ‘Mac Daddy,’ a white chocolate macadamia nut delight. It’s okay if you’re old-school when it comes to the cookie. You can grab the ‘OG,’ a classic chocolate chip. Just don’t expect these cookies to be slender.
“We’ll have three keto cookies available as well…and since its getting hot we’ll continue to have our iced-up phatties which come with ice cream,” Martinez told What Now San Diego. The San Marcos location will also serve the bakery’s signature “purple drank.”
